Real Wedding: Melina & Lukas

2020: the year no one saw coming, especially if you were excitedly planning a wedding! Melina and Lukas reached out to me right before the world shut down that year. We move ahead not knowing whether the wedding could happen that summer, and in the end, were forced to send out postponement cards (though I must admit, the bouzouki detail was pretty cute!). In the end, we took a lot of inspiration from the beautiful architectural details from the village of Pyrgi for their Chios wedding. August 6 would be the day this lovely couple would be able to share their love and celebrate with friends and family!

When we finally received the green light to create wedding invitations for them that following summer, Melina and Lukas knew exactly what they wanted. I designed the front of the invitations and envelope liners with the Pyrgi pattern, and also brought in my Greek door/bougainvillea illustration. The backside of the invitations and response cards were a little bit more playful with my Greek Summer pattern and illustrated goats.

After working with couples, sometimes for over a year, it’s so exciting to finally see their wedding come together - look at all those beautiful flowers!!!
